The semiotic registers from Duval's theory (2006) establish two important actions, the conversion and the treatment. The first refers to moving from one register to another (symbolic, graphic, algebraic and discursive) and the second to the necessary manipulations while maintaining the start record. On the other hand, the issue of inequalities has a wealth of semiotic representations that represent an object of study with a lot of potential that has not been exploited, due to the lack of previous works that are on the subject (Borello, 2010; et al., 2001; Prada-Núñez et al., 2017). Therefore, in this research it is a matter of studying in which registry the engineering students of the TecNM develop: ITCdJ with the help of a didactic sequence supported by the theory of Didactic Situations
